VIOLENT GRADUATION

It’s easy to ignore dangerous issues while you’re studying at the Royal Space Navy’s academy, until a sniper attempts to assassinate you.

The scar across the side of Jack’s head is the visible price. The risk to his friends at the academy is the hidden price. His challenge is how to balance the risks.

The final stage of his training is a shakedown cruise on an old minesweeper, barely able to achieve FTL entry and exit.
Midway through their cruise, the minesweeper collides with an ancient alien wreck, ripping the sides off the starship. Jack’s team of bots help seal the combined wreck to prevent air loss. Ghost, a nanolife form from the alien wreck, provides assistance.

Jack and his girlfriend, Sofia, are the only survivors, and air, food, and supplies are critical.

The countdown of days to survive is ticking.

No wonder the Royal Family are angry.

And there’s still a price on Jack’s head.

An epic space opera story.

JACK'S PLANET

Jack's Planet is the third book in the Jack Foster Space Opera series. The first two books both took off like rockets - rewarding when you're writing Space Opera.

Jack has undertaken to return rescued Tirarge, a hitherto unknown species, to their home planet. The first problem? The Tirarge cannot speak - they're telepathic. The second problem? They don't know where their home system is located. The third problem? Another starship is following Fearless, likely seeking revenge.

Oh wait, there's another problem. Two other species also inhabit this unknown planet, and they can't speak, either.

Surprisingly, that's not the end of Jack's problems.

Jack, while sympathetic to the issues facing the planet and its people, has no standing apart from Fearless and his three bots and the Eagles and the SAC scouts and a squad of Black Company marines and a warrior squad of Tirarge and an AI or two...

The rulers of the planet, ignoring civilized conventions, have a simple yet elegant solution. They re-name their world and nominate Jack as its new owner. They engrave the title to the planet on a massive diamond, a jewel worth more than Jack can ever dream of. The new name of this world?

Jack Foster's Planet

There are enemies on their way, possibly a GalFed destroyer or two, and a planet to protect. Join Jack and his team - ever increasing - in their venture to help their new friends against slave traders, and Jack's Planet against illegal mining.

BATTLE STATIONS

It’s difficult to retain your focus – and indeed, your life – when Ghost is trying to strangle and freeze you at the same time. He’s tried it before and failed. Will he succeed this time?

Who is attempting to attack Fearless? Count them.

The native species on Jack’s Planet are protecting Jack and in turn, Jack has undertaken to stop the illegal mining that is polluting the atmosphere and the planet - his planet.

He stopped it, that’s for sure. A major—and angry—GalFed corporation is complaining about the destruction of their multi-billion credit mining operation. They'll complain more when they discover Jack is confiscating the refined ore they've so industriously accumulated.

GalFed Space Navy starships are more than interested. Fortunately, the Black Company’s destroyers provide support for Jack.

An alien starship has been searching for Jack and it too, arrives.

A Blue Cap admiral tries to demote General Van de Huis in an effort to weaken Jack’s protection of the planet.

Space is getting crowded.

Jack’s making enemies faster than he’s making friends. Well, almost.

Jack Foster Senior is surprised when an old acquaintance arrives on another starship. She’s responsible for classifying the intelligent species as non-intelligent, opening the planet up to predators. Sparks fly.

Jack and his retinue from his planet are summoned to Bester II to present his case for ownership of Jack’s Planet. It’s the Blue Caps against Jack Foster.

YOU DON'T KNOW JACK

You Don’t Know Jack is book five in the Jack Foster Space Opera series – another rocketing read. Of course, it will be riveting. Jack Foster is missing.

A distant planet roasts in the sun.

Not all its properties are known to the Omega Corporation.

One of the slaves – human – is about to recover his memory. So will his companions.

Time could be his weapon of choice to use to escape from the slavers.
Meanwhile, Jenny Layton, Jack’s partner, is waging a defensive war against trespassers on Jack’s Planet. Jenny’s also assisting smaller systems and planets defend themselves against a corporate monolith that seemingly has more money than sense.

Corporate mercenaries continue to arrive.

In the meantime, Robert Van de Huis meets more opposition than perhaps he can handle.
Jenny prepares her presentation to the GalFed’s top legal assembly, a task which emphasizes Jack’s absence. All Jenny wants is his presence, or simply knowledge he is alive.

Jack finds timing is everything as he plans his escape from the slavers’ planet. Almost needless to say, he also is planning revenge on the slavers. His tasks successful, Jack turns his attention to rejoining Jenny.

Scars, deaths, and destruction follow both Jenny and Jack.

There’s a happy ending, though.

After John's death in May Craig Martelle finished the story.
